On Thin Ice: Second Period

After a pretty good first date at the rink, you and him are planning to meet each other again a few days before Christmas Eve. He’s dashing off to the last practice before Christmas and hurriedly you both decide to make arrangements to go to the mall and the arcade, maybe get some mulled wine after, who knows, get a little bonkers with it.

Practice comes and goes and you decide to give him a call, excited for your meet up. The call is soon hijacked by his wildcard teammate ‘Blizzard’ who does not hold back on sharing details about your date’s dating history.

Realising you might have made a mistake and fallen for someone interested only in a fling and an ego boost, you cancel the plans and tell him not to call you again. Christmas Eve arrives and he arranges to meet you at a coffee place in town to try and make peace, you’re not exactly impressed with him hiding this former life on the first date and things are on thin ice.

But maybe, just maybe, he really is trying to change…
