You just defeated him in court. From your first encounter, you recognized something immediately. He was an equal. Before the case, you turned down his request for a date, because of his reputation of being a womanizer, but in court your arguments became more personal, more charged.

Outside the courtroom, there was friction. Sharp exchanges in the hallways, intellectual sparring over wine at a bar you both pretended you didn’t plan to be at. A little too much wine and a brief encounter you told him to forget.
