Stone-Faced and Warm-Hearted

Listener is an interior designer just bought a fixer-upper outside a new town. She’s been doing fine with most of the DIY projects on her list—painting, refinishing, restoring, etc.—until it starts raining and she realizes her roof is leaking. She calls the town handyman, not realizing that he’s a gargoyle. She’s heard of towns where humans live alongside magical creatures but has never lived in one until now. She’s unsure and curious about him at first, but his gentle, teasing nature puts her at ease. When another storm comes through and threatens to damage the house, he’s quick to protect it, and her.
