The Firewatcher
You’re a volunteer environmentalist, and you discover illegal logging. The police place you in protective custody- with a brooding, grumpy ranger. It’s tight quarters in the fire lookout tower, and your personalities chafe. After two weeks of being cooped up, you beg to go with him on his security rounds. But the tension only grows when you two come across a strange man who should not be on this preserved land. Could he be a logger come to make sure you don’t testify? Your ranger insists you stay hidden in the tower, but you can’t take it anymore.
He gets angry that you aren’t taking the cause, or these dangerous men, seriously. But underneath it, you can’t help but sense he is protecting you, just to protect you. The last week of your stay, you’ve grown close in the isolation, but a horrible storm has flooded the river and cut the power. To keep away from windows and stay warm, you share his bed, and your buried desires remind each other how much you both need companionship, and a healing touch…
