The Falconer's Secret

In 1880, you are the young widow of a powerful landowner, hidden away on a sprawling Mid-Atlantic estate. During your brief, arranged marriage, the world believed you were mute. But your silence was not weakness—it was survival, a quiet rebellion in a house where obedience was demanded and neglect was law. Now your husband is dead. And everything he controlled is yours - including his falconer. Fetch. The man your husband trained like a beast, forbidden from ever speaking to you… until the day of the funeral, when he finds you in the rose garden you kept alive in secret, and finally breaks his silence: “I answer to no man. Only to you… Widow. May the Lord forgive that truth.” As resentment simmers among the estate staff, a connection grows between you and the falconer. You learn the truth: once thought broken, this man was never truly tamed - not by your husband or anyone. And the first time he binds your wrists with a falcon’s jess, it isn’t to claim or command, but to unbind what was caged… and show you the man he becomes when he belongs to no one but you.
