When you bring home a cat and your Mafia boyfriend finds out

Your Mafia boyfriend wasn’t exactly thrilled when you brought a cat home.

The questions came first, then the sighs, then that long, quiet pause he does when he’s trying not to lose his patience. But somewhere in the middle of all that, the kitten climbed into his lap.

You saw his eye twinkle. It was brief, but you saw it. And now your boyfriend is sitting there, motionless, pretending he’s still in control when everyone can see he’s not.

You smiled to yourself. You’re cuddling with your boyfriend and your new cat tonight. You just know it.
